The Spring House Hotel Rome Vatican is a four-star hotel that gives a truly five-star experience. Located just steps away from the Vatican Museum entrance, this Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel offers excellent service as well as clean and spacious rooms.

As a Hilton member, I booked my four night stay through the Hilton app to utilize my member discount and opportunity to have breakfast included.

How to Get to The Spring House Hotel Rome Vatican From FCO Airport

Getting to the hotel from Rome’s FCO airport, I took about a forty minute uber ride straight from my terminal which cost around 50€. There are cheaper ways to get from the airport to central Rome, but I was too eager to get to check in and explore. If you are looking to budget more you can get into Rome’s central train station for just under 15€ and take a train from there to the hotel for under 2€. This route will take you just over an hour. No matter how you get there, the journey is overall simple and can go by quickly.

First Impressions & Check-In Experience at Spring House Hotel

When arriving at The Spring House Hotel the front staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. They helped me get checked in quickly, and I even got to check in early. Getting to the room was simple, and they did have an elevator that fit one person with a large piece of luggage well.

The room was incredibly spacious, especially compared to the size of many other European hotels I have been in. There was a king sized bed, plenty of floor space, a french balcony, a large TV and many other amenities including a great shower.

Location Review: Walking Distance to Rome’s Top Attractions

The proximity of the hotel to many attractions was very close.

  • Vatican Museums: moments away

  • Pantheon: ~35 minute walk

  • Trevi Fountain: ~45 minute walk

  • Colosseum & Roman Forum: ~1 hour walk

While some walks were slightly longer there were always so many cute shops and cafes along the way to stop at.

I personally prefer walking when travelling, but there are plenty of options for public transportation as well if you’re not looking to walk everywhere. There are even day passes for about 7€ to make it cheap and effective to utilize Rome’s public transportation services. If you want something in between, there are also Lime Bikes to rent and take to travel around the city.

The bed at the hotel was comfortable. The perfect fit after a long day of exploring the city. The room had a very relaxing atmosphere overall allowing for a great nights rest all four nights I spent.

Breakfast at Spring House Hotel: What to Expect Each Morning

Each morning breakfast was served in the main restaurant which was a beautiful space. Specialty coffees were also made to order, so I would typically start my day with an expertly made cappuccino. Besides the coffee, the selection at breakfast was buffet style and spread across two areas.

The offerings included:

  • A hot bar

  • A rotating pastry selection

  • Fresh baked savory items

  • Fruits, meats, cheeses, olive oils

  • Infused waters and fresh juices

Highlights for me included the fresh mozzarella with olive oil, small pizzas, warm breads, and tiny meat sandwiches.

Final Thoughts: Is The Spring House Hotel Rome Vatican Worth It?

Overall, I cannot recommend The Spring House Hotel Rome Vatican more for a stay in Rome, especially for a first trip. From the service, to the location, and even the breakfast it was the perfect place to call our home for our five days in the Eternal City. In fact, I have a scheduled night in Rome this coming may, and I am truly a bit sad that the hotel room I desired was fully booked by the time I made these plans.

Let me know if you have plans to stay at The Spring House Hotel Rome Vatican or your experience if you’ve stayed there!
